Game Modes
When you load up a Quick or Competitive Match of Marvel Rivals you'll randomly load into one of the various Core Game Modes including Convoy, Domination, and Convergence. Marvel Rivals also offers a slightly difference gameplay experience through Arcade Modes like Doom Match and Conquest. Regardless of the Game Mode you decide to play, you may have a few questions about the mode's ruleset and objective.
In this Marvel Rivals guide, we'll list and explain Marvel Rival's 3 Core Game Modes, and 2 Arcade Modes.

Core Game Modes
Convergence
At the start of a Convergence match, you'll be randomly placed into one of two six-player squads: Attackers or Defenders. Attackers will attempt to capture a Mission Area control point to unlock a vehicle, and then escort that vehicle through two additional checkpoints. Meanwhile, Defenders will look to prevent the capture of the Mission Area control point. If the Defenders fail and the Mission Area is captured by the Attackers, Defenders will now look to claim the vehicle and prevent the enemy from reaching the next Checkpoint.
Convergence is a 6v6 Game Mode, and though you Attack and Defend in Competitive, Quick Match will only see you as an Attacker or Defender.
The Convergence Maps currently in Marvel Rivals include:
Convoy
In Convoy, you'll be randomly placed into one of two six-man squads: Attackers or Defenders. Attackers will aim to seize control of and escort a payload through three Checkpoints. When Attackers take control of the payload, the vehicle will slowly move toward the next Checkpoint. Though the payload will automatically move when controlled by Attackers, the vehicle moves incrementally faster for each squad member near the payload (up to 4 teammates).

To win, Defenders must prevent the Attackers from escorting the payload for a predetermined amount of time. Defenders can prevent the Attackers advance by eliminating all Attackers near the payload or preventing them from reaching the objective.
Convoy is a 6v6 Game Mode. In Quick Match you'll play as an Attacker or Defender, but in Competitive, you'll switch sides between rounds to play both roles.
The Convoy Map pool currently includes:
Domination
Domination is your classic King of the Hill (KOTH) Game Mode. Two opposing six-man squads of Heroes battle to seize control of a Mission Area sitting at the center of a symmetrical map. Once one of the squads has held the Mission Area until the capture percentage reaches 100 percent, they'll win the round.
The first squad to win two of the three potential Maps will win the match. Domination has three maps including:

Conquest

Conquest acts as Marvel Rivals' team deathmatch mode, and teams aim to eliminate enough enemies to collect 50 Chronovium from their bodies. Your health will be restored after securing a final blow and the more Chronovium a player collects, the more they'll drop upon their next death.
Conquest Maps include:
Doom Match
Doom Match is Marvel Rivals' take on the classic free-for-all Game Mode. Compete against 8-12 opponents in a race to secure 16 eliminations or reach the highest score before time runs out. The players in the top 50% of eliminations will earn a Victory, and the player with the most eliminations will earn the MVP honors.
