The Zipline Rope Gun is an essential piece of equipment in the Sons of the Forest and is a prerequisite for obtaining the Shovel. The Rope Gun won't be easy as it is hidden deep inside a cannibal-infested cave on the western side of the map. This guide will cover everything you need to know about navigating the cave including changes introduced as part of the 1.0 update, and information on how to get the Cross and piece of the Artifact that's also in Cave B. How to Get the Zipline Rope Gun

To get your hands on the Rope Gun, you'll want to make your way to the Cave that's found on the western side of the island, between the ocean and snowy mountainscape. The entrance to the cave can be found on the side of a rock, where the streams of water connect on the map above.

Once you reach the cave, clear the boarded entrance and squeeze through the crack in the large rock face.

Head inside the cave, where you'll come across a few skeletons. On the left, you can pick up some Cloth and Watches from the rock, and there are also some Canned Food and Raw Meat by the rock that sits directly before the skeleton that's illuminated by the light.

To go deeper into the cave, follow the path to the right. You'll eventually come to a ledge where you can see a large open area and mutants roaming down below. There are actually three ways you go here, but to the left is where you'll find the path to the Zipline Rope Gun. Before doing this, we'd recommend exploring the rest of the cave to collect the Cross and a piece of the Artifact first.

Go Right - Path to the Artifact

Take a look to the right and you'll see a light down below in the cave shining up. Approach this area and go to the edge where the hanging skeletons are. On the right, you can find a rope you can take down to the bottom. Jump into the water, then swim to the right.

When you emerge from the water, you'll see a rope on the left (which is how you'll need to get out after) and crosses suspended above the water straight in front. Jump into the water here, dive down, and follow the path.

On the other side, you'll see more crosses, and a light shining through boards. Break these down and you'll see a metal structure not far below. Head down the slope and the Artifact will be sitting on a pedestal in the middle of the metal structure.

Go back the way you came and return to the way to get back to the rope. Climb up, and break through the boards blocking the path. Then cross over to the left, near the waterfall to find another rope to climb, which will be the one you first took down into the area.

Go Forward for the Cross

Head for the back of the cave, where you'll find plenty of resources. You'll also find a hand here, that's holding the cross.

Go Left - Path to the Zipline Rope Gun

Look to the left side as soon as you drop down, and head towards the fallen workers. You'll know you're in the right place if there's a body slumped over a ladder.

Go over to the worker on the floor and pick up the Solafite Photo Reference email. From the workers, go left and follow the wall as it continues deeper into the cave system.

After a short walk, you'll see another worker's body lit up, and to the right, there'll be a large blob-like creature stuck between a gap in the wall. To clear a way forward, pick up the Sticky Bombs beside the worker's body that's just in front of the creature and propped up on their knees with their head against the wall.

Equip the Sticky Bombs and toss them at the creature. Now, continue forward, and you'll find yourself in a more open space.

There'll be lots of mutants waiting for you here as well, so clear the area to make it safe to explore. A light shines down on the right side of the cave, illuminating a few magazines, some Rope, and an email note with the subject "More Lighting".

Once you've collected the note, explore the area to pick up some additional useful items like more Rope and Meds, then continue forward to the next section of the cave that's lit up and has workers suspended from the ceiling. To the right of them, you'll see a yellow drawing on the wall and a sign on one of them that says "Stay Out".

Continue forward along the cave, and be prepared to pass by lots of mutants including babies. Not very far ahead, you'll see another body underneath a light and more hanging from the ceiling. Collect the email from the body under the light titled "Dig Site B" and grab the Flares, Money, and Canned Food from around the body and inside the box next to it.

Keep pressing forward past the bodies, to the back of the cave, where the path starts to narrow and goes off to the right. On the other side of this passage, you'll find a room with a low ceiling and another blue light. Crouch here and continue going forward through the cave. When you're able to stand again, you'll be in another section with a heavy mutant presence.

Just keep going forward until you reach the next brightly lit section of the cave, where skeletons hang from the ceiling. Take the path and you'll come to another corridor where there are a few worker's bodies on the ground. You won't have anywhere else to go but along this smaller path, eventually passing some more babies, and multiple workers suspended from the ceiling.

After passing through the narrow corridor filled with hanging bodies, you'll need to take a sloped path up. This will eventually split into two, with a path going off to the left, and one continuing to slope up ahead.

You want to take the path on the left for the Zipline Rope Gun but go straight ahead first to find a body. There's a case to the right where you can collect some Stun Gun Ammo. After grabbing this, go back to where the path splits, and head for the left.

Take this path until you reach the cave section with the babies, then crouch and go through the small gap in the wall. Hug the wall to the right now where you'll begin to enter water. Keep staying to the right until you reach the next section where there's some light.

Stay along this path and eventually, you'll reach the end and come to a ledge. You can find the Rope Gun inside an open black crate on the ground. There's also some 9mm Ammo and a Carbon Fiber Arrow in the crate next to it.

Once collected, use the Rope Gun to zipline down to the ground below. Continue following the path forward from here, and you'll eventually reach the cave exit.
